Situated just south of Puerto Aventuras and Playa del Carmen on the Mexican Caribbean Sea, the Tulum lifestyle offers easy access to the best beaches in the world and – not surprisingly – some of the most amazing beach clubs you could find anywhere as well.
Here’s our list of the top five beach clubs in Tulum right now:
The chic, bohemian vibe that characterizes the Tulum lifestyle is evident at the Papaya Playa Project, which offers a spacious, restaurant and hip beach club with a double-decker bar that overlooks the beach. A multilevel semi-amphitheater has private seating enclaves, while two spacious oceanfront palapas and a 360-degree wooden tower offer stunning vantage points for dining, and the generous stretch of beach offers serviceable sun beds and shaded hanging beds, known as palapitas. Be sure to check out the late-night weekend events and monthly Full Moon parties, which feature live music and major-league DJs for a crowd of local and international partygoers. Open late.
Located at The Beach Tulum Hotel, the Ziggy Beach club offers fantastic service with a low-key menu of beachfront food and drinks. We like the Sunday beachfront barbecues, which always feature great music and delicious food. Sunbeds are available for day visitors and be sure to ask for a romantic table set up on the beach if traveling with someone special. Open daily from 9 a.m. to sunset.
Mina is hybrid restaurant-bar in the Marina Del Mar Boutique Hotel and is situated on a prime piece of white sand Tulum real estate overlooking the Mexican Caribbean Sea. Known for delicious cocktails and mouthwatering cuisine cooked over an open grill, the décor is laid-back and the open-air section of the restaurant is a great place for people watching. We love to stop in for the seafood and also to enjoy the perfect espresso right on the beach. Kids ages 12 and over are welcome. Open daily from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
With ample space for relaxing in hammocks, bean bags, swings and beach chairs, this popular beachfront hotspot has just enough shade, ice cold beer, creative signature cocktails and an excellent menu. The all-white décor has a distinct Miami vibe, enhanced by hot electronic beats from top international DJs that also make this a go-do destination for dancing the night away. Open 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Offering a glimpse into the old Tulum lifestyle, Villa Pescadores is known for its rustic vibes and comfortable, eco-friendly atmosphere. With excellent food and great service this is a prime couples destination and is just minutes away from the ancient ruins overlooking the Mexican Caribbean Sea. We recommend the fresh whole fish, served with delicious guacamole, but everything on the menu is delicious. Open daily from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
