Where to Eat in Puerto Aventuras

La Caleta Seafood Restaurant

Located on the main marina near the boat ramp, La Caleta evolved from a partnership between a Chilean and Argentinian-owned spear fishing guide business and as a result offers some of the freshest seafood around. And as anyone who’s traveled to (or is familiar with) Argentina knows, the country boasts the highest per capita consumption of beef, so this incredible restaurant in Puerto Aventuras also has a true Argentinean-style parilla grilling up some seriously succulent cuts of meat. Insider Tip: La Caleta usually has live music on Friday and Saturday, and the grilled octopus is absolutely sublime.

El Arbolito

When you’re craving flavorful tacos, El Arbolito has you covered! This authentic taco shop in Puerto Aventuras has the best homemade corn tortillas and more than 20 different guisados (stews that go inside the taco with beans and rice) to choose from. Situated on the ramp going towards Tulum on Highway 307, this local favorite is open early until 3 p.m. Insider Tip: El Arbolito is a great place to pick up breakfast tacos; we love chorizo and eggs or local Chaya (a leafy green vegetable native to the Yucatan Peninsula) and eggs.

Makito Fusion Restaurant

Craving some tasty Thai or Japanese fare? Head to Makito for incredible Asian Fusion cuisine and enjoy the cozy atmosphere with a great view of the Dolphin Discovery experience in the heart of Puerto Aventuras. The sushi rolls are enormous, the soy sauce is homemade and the variety is impressive, including a variety of tasty vegetarian options. Insider Tip: We love the Japanese dumplings, the octopus salad is pure perfection and the spring rolls with added cilantro are simply to die for.
