New Cancun-Tulum Bus Route Coming to Mexico’s Riviera Maya

Four urban transportation companies have announced plans to invest more than $13.3 million USD in 140 articulated metro buses that will serve a new Cancun to Tulum bus route, making it easier than ever for travelers to move about in Mexico’s Riviera Maya, which also includes vacation hotspots like Playa del Carmen, Cozumel and Puerto Aventuras.

Expected to accommodate an average of 50,000 passengers per day, the new Cancun-Tulum bus route will begin operating later this year to help meet growing demand for transportation between the Cancun International Airport and the Riviera Maya. The buses run on natural gas and also meet the Friendly Vehicle Advanced Environment Standard to reduce emissions. It is the first service of its kind in the state of Quintana Roo to implement environmentally friendly technologies.
