After an incredible wait full of anticipation, René Redzepi and team Noma are finally making waves in the Mexican Caribbean. After much speculation over the past two years, this weekend confirmed that DreamWorks animation studios will operate not just one but two theme parks in Punta Maroma, which lies just north of Playa del Carmen and just south of Cancun in the heart of Mexico’s Riviera Maya. The two new parks will be known as Dream Park and Thrill Park. 

As a father of 2 young kids who love the warm turquoise waters,white sandy beaches, snorkeling and – of course – the amazing parks that already exist in the area around Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Isla Holbox is located on the northern side of the Yucatan peninsula between Cancun and Merida. It is just a mere tiny sliver of an island, and the entire thing is situated within a biosphere, which is land that is protected by the Mexican Government. Still, there are residents who live here full time, and the township is located on the far end of the island closer to Merida, with roughly 2,500 full-time residents.
