Blending five-star hospitality,a breathtaking spa,top-notch cuisine,a world-class tequila collection and a location that simply can’t be surpassed, the new Chablé Resort is situated just 25 minutes from the historic colonial town of Merida on Mexico’s stunning Yucatan Peninsula, reported Forbes.
“Chablé’s world-class spa will be built alongside a private and natural cenote, which are natural formations commonly associated with the Yucatan Peninsula and considered sacred by the Mayans,” writes Forbes. “The philosophy of the spa will draw from this ancient culture to offer a wide range of Mayan-inspired spa treatments, harnessing the powers of the area’s most ancient techniques and ingredients mixed with modern amenities.”
The resort and spa are both scheduled to open during the spring of 2016 and will feature just 38 luxurious standalone pool villas,as well as two large three-bedroom presidential suites and an authentic XIX century traditional-style hacienda, which has been completely restored with respect for the past.
The property will reportedly span more than 750 acres and will be nestled in the heart of the Mayan jungle, with a focus on providing the utmost in privacy, intimacy and tranquility for all guests. Visitors are encouraged to venture out and experience the local culture, including the city of Merida, which is rich in tradition and history, with a vibrant art community.
“The resort will offer fine, organic cuisine from a seasonal menu sourced directly from Chablé’s on-site gardens,” writes Forbes. “Chablé will also offer an expansive cellar showcasing the largest private tequila collection in the world.”
Phase two of the property will begin immediately after phase one opens in the spring of 2016 and will reportedly include an 18-hole championship golf course,as well as an added real estate component offering private residential lots in Merida.
The concept for the new Chablé resort began more than 10 years ago when the developers decided to expand upon the standard hacienda-style resorts famous throughout Mexico. Instead,Chablé aims to create a calm and peaceful place that is focused on wellness, while also restoring the traditional XIX-century hacienda and connecting it all back to the local community.
The spa reportedly features nine treatment rooms,a steam room,a sauna,a salt cabin and a floatarium,in addition to warm and cold whirlpool baths,a water circuit with varying shower pressures,a special relaxation area and swimming pool. Traditional Mayan techniques are incorporated into all the treatments and the spa is located right next to the cenote. This is just as it would have been during ancient times, since cenotes were considered important ritual sites and locations containing positive energy by the Mayans.
