I'm a beach and ocean addict. I've lived and vacationed in many beautiful places. But for me,none compares to the magnificence of the Mexican Caribbean's,Riviera Maya. Many travelling friends say that no Caribbean island they've visited, beats this little stretch of Paradise that is,the Mayan Riviera. It's major town,Playa Del Carmen, not for nothing,is still the world's fastest growing beach community. Playa has it all. By day it has magnificent turquoise Caribbean water and glittering white sand. When darkness falls the place is abuzz with restaurants, live music and clubs that rock into the wee small hours.
But,if you like things a little more tranquil, discover the self contained gated community that is,Puerto Aventuras. This wanderlust traveler has been living there,at least, three months a year for ten years; to do that, the place had to be outstanding; it is! As a place to live or vacation, there can be few to top it. My home is on one of Puerto's magnificent marinas, three or four minutes walk from the beach, shops and a variety of quality restaurants. If you want it,the night-life of Playa Del Carmen is just up the road. For visitors, young and old,P.A.'s dolphins, manatees and sea lions remain a major attraction.
When it comes to oceanic beauty, jewels are many on the Mayan Riviera. For me,the crowning glory are the beaches of Tulum. The southernmost beach has been voted one of the world's top ten – some accolade! Why? It is uncrowded, wide, goes for miles into the wild life sanctuary of a national park and,it has the whitest, finest sand I've ever seen. No high-rises in Tulum; only quaint, personable restaurants, many accompanied by traditionally styled beach accommodation; by law, that won't change. Just beginning to develop, with an international airport coming soon,Tulum, just like the rest of the Mayan Riviera,is a great place to invest in land and property as I have.
The bottom line? Probably, the Mayan Riviera is far superior to any other similar place when it comes to living and investment. In relation to the Mexico's Mayan Riviera, the old adage – Location,Location,Location, comes strongly into focus. Most importantly, the appreciative and friendly people of the Riviera Maya will welcome you with open arms.

It has been 10 years since Chalky White and his wife Lynn made their second home in Puerto Aventuras,on Mexico's Mayan Riviera. Chalky is a Brit, veteran ski instructor and traveler that has lived in many resort areas across the world, including his main home in the U.S. ski resort of Vail,Colorado. Having seen so many variations of beautiful places,Chalky has been left with the realization that Mexico's Caribbean coastline is the only place he has ever considered setting up a second home. In Chalky's opinion, the hospitality of the people and the quality of the Mayan Riviera's Caribbean sea and beaches, are as good as it gets.
