Beginning with scenes of the hypnotizing, azure blue waters of the Caribbean Sea and gently swaying palms dancing along the shore, the new Flightgeist film on Vimeo, titled Mexico From Above: Riviera Maya, lets the viewer know right away that this one is getting ready to show you something truly special.
The film is the result of five days of aerial shooting in the Riviera Maya, including in and around the towns of Tulum,Playa del Carmen and Cancun,as well as the nearby island of Cozumel and the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, a 1.3-million acre designated UNESCO World Heritage Site that borders the town of Tulum. This magical region of Mexico, which lies along the eastern shores of the Yucatan Peninsula in the state of Quintana Roo overlooking the Caribbean Sea,is one place in the world where a long and storied history happens to come together with the world’s most beautiful beaches and most stunning natural beauty.
In the film,we can see all of this, along with limitless acres of lush tropical jungle landscapes, bright turquoise waters, the city of Cancun and the ancient ruins of Tulum, which are home to the only Mayan pyramid overlooking the sea. You also get to see homes, villas, piers, beaches, fishermen at work, mangroves and so much more, giving the viewer a true taste of why Mexico’s Riviera Maya is one of the world’s most visited tourist destinations.
According to its producers, the film was shot in 4K using a DJI Inspire 1,and was edited in Premiere CC,color grade with LUTs from Neumann Films. The music is titled “Flume” and is by the artist Insane, feat. Moon Holiday. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we have!
