Inspired by the concept and the overwhelming success of last year's event,this year's event finds itself with all of Playa's top international chefs clamoring over each other to put their top creations and dishes in front of the educated palettes of thousands of those of us seeking heaven through the creative ways that each individual chef can present.
Wanting to bring awareness of the cultural diversity of the Mexican Caribbean in 2009,a determined posse of business owners founded and implemented this sensational community event. The awe-inspiring history of this region,its world-class beaches,and the rich array of flora and fauna have made this area a true international destination and a perfect fit for this type of event.
Some of Playa's best and most respected business have involved themselves in corporate sponsorship of the event to ensure a top notch event again. There are over 700 restaurants in Playa alone,so the competition and assortments will be fierce. Although not considered a competition,I know the chefs will all be hoping their creations will reign supreme.
This cultural event will take place in Parque Fundadores in downtown Playa on November 21,2010 and will be open to everyone.
All proceeds from the event will benefit a food education program that the rotary club in Playa del Carmen initiated.
