La Isla Shopping Village
Shop: Located on the north side of the Hotel Zone,this oversized outdoor mall has recently added the ultra-chic Boutique Palacio to its southern section,including other high-end luxury brands Armani,Gucci,Marc Jacobs and Salvatore Ferragamo. Other notable high-end shops include Brooks Brothers,Calvin Klein,Coach,Louis Vuitton and Swarovski,among others. Additional retailers located in La Isla include Diesel,GNC,Guess,iStore for Apple,Kiehls,Lacoste,MAC,Nike,Nine West,Roxy,United Colors of Benetton,Quicksilver and Zara.
Eat: Not to worry if hunger strikes,since the La Isla Shopping Village is also home to an impressive array of restaurants and cafes,including international brands like Ben & Jerry’s,Chili’s,Cold Stone Creamery,Hooters,Johnny Rockets,McDonald’s and Starbucks. The facility also offers two high-end dining options,including Thai – a scrumptious Asian restaurant with a beautiful setting that includes tables on their very own private docks – as well as Elefanta,which offers tantalizing Indian cuisine with tables overlooking a beautiful lagoon.
Play: A Cinemark movie theatre located at La Isla always shows the latest English-language film releases,while the large Cancun Interactive Aquarium offers the opportunity to swim with dolphins and make contact with a variety of other sea creatures,making it a favorite destination among families with young children. Other kid-friendly activities include a play area with bungee cords over trampolines and water balls that actually allow you to get inside and walk on water.
Shop: Located between AV Bonapark and AV Tulum,just a few blocks from the main roundabout at downtown Cancun’s southern tip,this popular shopping destination contains separate areas,some of which are open air and others that are indoors. The two-story section inside is home to a number of clothing stores,including two large Liverpool department stores – one of which is focused on home accessories and the other on fashion and beauty. Liverpool also boasts a large children’s department that is complete with clothing for kids of all ages and the best toy store in the area. Other retailers include Adidas,GNC,Guess,iStore for Apple,Massimo,Mixup (a popular Mexican music store),Quiksilver,Sears,Sony,Sunglass Island,Tommy Hilfiger,United Colors of Benetton and Zara among others.

Play: The Malecon Americas shopping center is designed in a sort of V-shape,with both “legs” enclosing the indoor,air-conditioned areas,while the center portion is open-air and features a merry-go-round for kids. An English-language Cinepolis movie theater,an amusement center and ice rink round out the family entertainment options,and several bookstore-cafes are also located on site.

Kukulcan Plaza & Luxury Avenue
Shop: This indoor shopping center is located just south of La Isla and the section known as “Luxury Avenue” is – not surprisingly – known for its luxury brands,including Burberry,Carolina Herrera,Cartier,Fendi,Longchamp,Louis Vuitton,Montblanc,Roberto Coin,Tiffany,and more. The section known as “Kukulcan Plaza” is home to many other retailers,including Harley Davidson,Hello Kitty,Hugo Boss,Kenneth Cole,Lacoste,Nautica,Oakley,Sunglass Island and Tommy Bahama.
Eat: At Kukulcan Plaza,hungry visitors will enjoy access to a nice array of options,including Baskin Robbins,Häagen Dazs,Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and the Luxury Bar Café,which can be found in the Luxury Avenue section of the premises.
Play: Visitors can choose between blowing off some steam in the facility’s very own bowling alley,or opt to take in some English-language films at one of the shopping mall’s two movie theatres. Kids of all ages will also enjoy a trip to PlayCity,which is a large video gaming casino,while younger children will enjoy hanging out at Kukulkids,a high-quality childcare facility with activities for a variety of age ranges. Finally,visitors will thrill to the permanent and temporary art installations here,which include a native Mayan-inspired 75-foot stained glass atrium by artists Clemente Cameo Misrahi and Erika Almazán Quintero.

Shop: This smaller yet chic and somewhat eclectic two-story shopping center is located north of the convention center in the Hotel Zone on Blvd. Kukulcan,featuring a variety of retailers offering everything from art and design to entertainment and fashion. Here,visitors will enjoy a mix of brand name items interspersed with local items that are often handmade by area artisans. Retailers include Envy,Lacoste Sunglass Island,Ultrafemme and United Colors of Benetton,among others.
Eat: In addition to standard food court fare,visitors can enjoy Häagen Dazs and Starbucks,which is a popular spot to chill out.
Play: Free Wi-Fi is available here,while the location is very close to Cancun’s main vortex of nightlife,bars and cafes,providing easy access to a number of entertainment options,including Daddy´O,Señor Frogs,Coco Bongo and Mandala.
