Cabo San Lucas to Host Comedy Festival Oct. 2-6

Cabo San Lucas – one of Mexico’s most popular vacation destinations – will host a city-wide comedy festival from October 2-6,according to Travel Weekly. Shows will take place at a variety of venues throughout the city,stated festival producer John Zaring. 

“The first Cabo San Lucas comedy festival is set,” writes Travel Weekly. “Revenue from the festival will support DIF,a local children’s services charity.”

More than 60 comedians have already been announced in the lineup,including Annie Lederman,Al Castillo,Baron Vaughn,Ben Gleib,Andrew Sleighter,Bobby Slayton,Bret Ernst,Cathy Ladman,Cisco Saldana,Collin Moulton,Don McMillan,Dana Eagle,Drake Witham and Eduadro Talavera,among others. A number of additional artists will likely be announced in the days leading up to the event.

Shows will reportedly take place every evening and will be divided into categories,including headliners,musical acts and rising stars. Venues will include Cabo’s Hard Rock Café,the Pink Kitty nightclub,former Van Halen front man Sammy Hagar’s Cabo Wabo Cantina and Desperado’s

In addition to the comedy acts,the event will kick off with a party starting at 5 p.m. Wednesday,Oct. 2 at the Baja Brewing Company,followed by an after party starting at midnight at Knotty Social Club. Thursday night’s after party will take place at midnight at Baja Junkie. Friday will begin with a pool party at 2 p.m. at Nikki Beach,followed by an after part at midnight held at the Pink Kitty. Saturday’s festivities will also begin with a pool party at 2 p.m.,followed by an after party at Mandala starting at midnight. Finally,there will be a closing pool party on Sunday starting at 3 p.m. held at the Bahia/Esquina pool.

There will also be a charity golf tournament at 11 a.m. Thursday,October 3 at the Palmilla Golf Club,which overlooks the Sea of Cortez and boasts a signature Jack Nicklaus-designed course. Proceeds from the one-day tournament will benefit DIF Los Cabos. A $150 donation is required. Baja Junkie will donate food and drinks.

DIF Los Cabos is a children and family-focused charity that supports those who are struggling with homelessness,neglect,abuse and disability. Services provided by the group include child and family protection,food assistance,care centers and child development,as well as providing a productive environment for women and children in need.
