Cabo San Lucas will be the focus of foodies everywhere this month,as the highly exclusive annual Food & Wine Festival comes back to the Capella Pedregal Resort from July 10-14. Celebrity chefs Tim Hollingsworth and Thomas Keller from the French Laundry restaurant in California will attend,as will Capella’s own executive chef Yvan Mucharraz and chef Lauren Sung Wong Tee,chef Kent Rathburn of Abacus and Dean Fearing of Fearing’s in Dallas,chef Johnny Iuzzine of Top Chef and chef Philippe Schmit of Philippe Restaurant in Houston.
“The event will begin with a welcome reception showcasing artisanal Mexican cheeses,Mexican wines and specialty dishes,” writes the LA Times. “Other events include cooking demonstrations with the chefs,a tequila seminar,a five-course dinner with each course individually prepared by a different chef and a celebratory after party.”
The Cabo San Lucas Food & Wine Festival is known for its ability to create a very intimate setting that allows each of the guests to spend time in the presence of the chefs,all while enjoying some of the world’s finest wines and most fabulous cuisine. An added twist? Although each of the attending chefs will create select signature dishes,they are also challenged to create new masterpieces of flavor by incorporating local ingredients that will “create a Mexican infusion.”
In addition,the four-night,five-day event will feature parties on the beach,gift bags with products from the chefs and other sponsors,nightly turndown gifts and full breakfast each morning at the resort’s signature restaurant,Don Manuel’s. For visitors who want more flexibility during their stay,individual event passes are available for the Wine and Cheese Tasting July 11,the Gourmet Beach BBQ July 12 and the Grand Finale Dinner July 14. Prices for these events range between $129 and $290 per person.
