The season is
arriving when the true colors, spirit, and diverse culture comes alive in the
Riviera Maya Mexico. Over the next five months the magical city of Playa del
Carmen will transform itself by hosting a wide array of different music, food,
and explorative events. I would like to think of this time of year as the peak
season to meet new people, see new things, and submerse yourself in a culture
that not only brings life to your days but a sense of unpredictable
inspiration. This is the opportunity to see bits and pieces of what the rest of
the world has to offer just hours from where you live now.
kicked off this past week starting with the Taste of Playa. Taste of Playa is a
culinary event in Playa del Carmen that features the finest chefs, diverse
culinary dishes, and restaurants throughout the Riviera Maya. You will find local
chefs from Puerto Morelos down to Punta Allen showing off their most exquisite,
both traditional and modern dishes. People from all around the country and even
around the globe including popular politicians, government officials, mayors,
and other members of the municipal governments gather to Playa to experience
this festival that seems to be rapidly growing in popularity each year.
Many may not
know but the city of Playa del Carmen is only in its infant stages. Twenty
years ago it was just a small fishing village strategically located on some of
the best beaches in the world. In 2006 it was named the fastest growing city in
the world – “Guinness Book of World Records” and in 2010 it was still deemed
the fastest growing city in Latin America. Events like these have not only
brought life but also premise and development to the region and Playa del
Carmen real estate. This new and popular city has made a name
for itself by taking a stake in the international cuisine market and expertise
in its culinary abilities while still providing the comforts of the Caribbean
lifestyle. Taste of Playa surprisingly enough has captured the attention of the
International Media by providing a promising day of multi-cultural cuisines.
Taste of Playa
kicked off at 3 p.m. and went until about 9 p.m. on November 20th in
the Parque Fundadores. Government, local business, and sponsors help fund the
events’ huge revenue generating tourist attraction. A percent of the proceeds
gets donated to a non-profit organization such as local food or water treatment
facilities. Events like this have played a major role in supporting and funding
the expansion of the middle class by creating affluent suburbs much like you
would find outside any major city in the United States,UK,and Canada.
The next time
you plan your trip down to see us remember that this is the time to come enjoy
the festivities and perfect atmosphere that the Riviera Maya has to offer.
Until next week … Hasta Luego.
