According to a report by the Wall Street Journal’s Market Watch,Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corp. will open its 100th store in Mexico this July with franchise partner Taco Holding. The shop will be located in a prime section of Cancun real estate and will feature the franchise’s new café-style design,which is complete with hot meals,specialty coffees and a children’s section.
“We are excited to announce the opening of Mexico’s 100th Krispy Kreme store in the city of Cancun,” stated Jeff Welch,president of Krispy Kreme International. “Taco Holding has done a great job of bringing the one of a kind taste of Krispy Kreme to our loyal customers throughout Mexico. In December of last year,Taco Holding opened the 500th international Krispy Kreme store in the city of Aguascalientes,so we have celebrated two important milestones in Krispy Kreme history with our Mexico team and look forward to celebrating many more in the years to come.”
Owned and operated by Taco Holding,Krispy Kreme’s franchise in Mexico was recently named the 2012 International Franchisee of the Year by the company’s main office. Krispy Kreme doughnut shops are located in key cities throughout Mexico,including Guadalajara,Leon,Mexico City and Puebla. Consumers in Mexico have embraced the Krispy Crème brand,making it likely that more stores will continue to open over the coming months and years.
