Last week on Yahoo, the best beaches of the Americas were listed, and Tulum came out on top! One couldn’t ask for much more than the sun, sand, and sea all in one location – and a margarita for each hand, perhaps! As reported on Yahoo, here are the top ten beach destinations in the Americas:
First on the list is Tulum,Mexico. The white sand and bright turquoise waters of Tulum beckon from below the enigmatic Mayan ruins, making it easy to see how this area was selected as number one. Diving and snorkeling enthusiasts will appreciate the second largest barrier reef in the world, which is located here, and for those who prefer hiking boots to flip flops,a tour of archaeological sites such as Tulum,Coba and Muyil make for informative and fun daytime adventures through the scenic countryside around Tulum.
Other winners include runner-up Antigua (Anguilla) which is located in the Lesser Antilles and has been converted into a luxury destination with more than 30 beaches to enjoy, followed by Itacaré,Prainha,Havaizinho and the clear waters of Jeribucaçu in Brazil, which all made the list.
The Culebra Islands of Puerto Rico,Los Roques in Venezuela, and the luxurious lost island of Kuainidup in Panama was mentioned as well. Also making the list are Madeiro Praia in Brazil,Frenchman’s Cove in Jamaica and last but not least Tayrona National Park in Columbia.
Within a group of some of the most stunning beaches in the world,Tulum still comes out on top. Maybe it's time to see what it's all about?
