You may think Cancun and surrounding areas are all soft white sandy beaches, clear blue seas and massive investment opportunities but theres more to these areas than you first may think. If like me you want more than sun,sea and investments you also want great food and service.
There's more to food than just the taste. It's the whole experience you want,I call it the customer journey. You want to fell special from the moment you walk through the door; are you greeted? Do they know your name? Does the place look inviting and clean and not too over the top? I must say I have been to a few places over here where all this is fantastic. You feel like a king. You have made your choice, the wine waiter has recommended the wine to accompany your meal, your mouth and taste buds are exploding with anticipation of your feast you are about to enjoy.
Then the food comes it looks over complicated on the plate, too messy to eat and the worst is yet to come the taste. It has none. That is all about to change, you will still get the fantastic service and setting but now the food will match. At last hotels in Cancun and the Rivera Maya have employed some of the finest chefs from around the world to help boast the hotels. With the area booming with big investment companies these clients are used to the best and have eaten in many top places around the world and now Cancun and surrounding areas are up there with the best of them.
Take a look at the Ritz Carlton, they have just employed Jordi Valles. He has worked in some of the finest places around the world but for me Akelarra, where I have eaten is fantastic. My mouth is watering just thinking about what I had to eat there! Anyway this guy also worked at the worlds most famous restaurant El Bulle a 3 Michelin star restaurant. I never made it there but you can bet I am going to go to the Ritz Carlton in the next few weeks to try it out. I will let you know what I think.
It's not just the Ritz that are pulling top chefs from around the world they are all trying it as the demand for great food is growing with the amount of tourists going up and up every year. I have eaten at some of London's best hotels and Restaurants but now living here my mind has been blown away be some of the smaller hotels like Esencia hotel now part owed by the Ferria family. The food and service are second to none and the good news is it won't hit your pocket too hard.
