Playboy Enterprises,Inc has finally opened their first club in Mexico with a launch party that took place on December 4th in Cancun. This $7.5 million dollar club and casino is located in the hotel zone within easy distance of the world famous beaches of Cancun and Cancun real estate. The 12,000 square foot facility will feature a casino and sports betting lounge,a night club and a restaurant, and was packed for the VIP invitation-only red carpet affair on opening night.
Only 25 young women were selected to be bunnies out of more than 1,500 who applied. These lucky few hail from Argentina,Cuba,Canada,Russia and Mexico, and will occupy positions such as hostesses, waitresses and dealers in the Casino. On opening night, however, the club showcased blackjack, roulette and craps, all served by veteran Bunnies from the USA who will begin a lengthy training program for the new Bunnies.
Playboy’s founder Hugh Hefner has been quoted as saying,“I am pleased to bring the Playboy Club to Mexico for the first time and to combine the sexy sophistication of the Playboy brand with the international allure of Cancun. With the opening of Playboy Club Cancun and the arrival of the Playboy Bunnies, nightlife there will never be the same!”
The Playboy Club Cancun was designed by Archon Design, and takes inspiration from the original Playboy Club in Chicago, which Hefner opened in 1960. While the design concept may have begun in Chicago, you can see an infusion of Mexican style everywhere you look. The project is expected to create more than 900 jobs in the local economy, either directly or indirectly, and the iconic brand will certainly give a boost to tourism in the New Year and beyond.
Playboy has partnered with Entretenimiento De Mexico S.A. De C.V.,a leading Mexican casino company that operates multiple casinos throughout Mexico under the Palmas Group. The Red Cross will be the first recipient of funds provided by the Playboy Club, continuing a longstanding company tradition of giving to local NGOs. What a great new addition to Cancun!
