Tourism Numbers Soar in Mexico’s Riviera Maya

The Riviera Maya and all it has to offer is no longer a secret to the travelers of the world. This 80 mile stretch of beautiful beaches, dining and activities is attracting travelers from all over the world. TripAdvisor just released their 2017 list of Mexico’s favorite destinations and locations in this dynamic Mexican Caribbean region took four of the top six spots, which is great news if you’ve been thinking about buying property here.

The numbers are staggering. Mexico is now ranked eighth in the world in total visitors, just behind the United Kingdom. And, statistics show 70% of those travelers come to the Riviera Maya. 

For the 2017-18 Christmas holiday season, downtown Playa del Carmen is forecast to welcome almost 800,000 visitors. For a small, bohemian beach town, the fact that Tulum is number 4 is equally intriguing. Development continues at a record pace in Tulum as travelers from all over the world flock there to enjoy the best beaches in the world, the ruins, the gastronomic choices and wellness opportunities.
