16 July, 2013

From Lady Gaga to Adam Levine and Mario Lopez to My Morning Jacket and Lea Michele,it seems Hollywood’s hottest stars just can’t get enough of Mexico real estate as summer officially hits full swing south of the border.

In one of her first outings since undergoing hip surgery last February,Lady Gaga was spotted in Cabo San Lucas this June, looking fit and relaxing on the beach for a few days before serving as a bridesmaid in a good friend’s wedding. Lea Michele from TV’s popular hit show Glee was also seen in Cabo last month, taking some time off from her hectic schedule to lounge by the pool.

Rounding out the list of celebs spotted in Cabo recently,Dancing with the Stars’ Louis van Amstel and Anna Trebunskaya were photographed having a good time on the beach last month at the Casa Dorada Los Cabos Resort & Spa.

Over on Mexico’s Caribbean coastline, which includes the ever-popular vacation hotspots of Cancun, the Riviera Maya,Playa del Carmen and Tulum, the sun and sand has also attracted its fair share of A-listers over the last few weeks, including Mario Lopez, who vacationed at the Villa del Palmar in Cancun with his pregnant wife Courtney Mazza and their two year old daughter Gia in early July. Also in Cancun at the Villa del Palmar,Glee stars Kevin McHale and Vanessa Lengies celebrated Kevin’s birthday with a group of friends in late June. “Best vacation or best vacation,” McHale gushed on Twitter, while Lengies  Tweeted “The time of my life,” according to E! English model and actress Kelly Brook also visited the Riviera Maya last month and was photographed taking a dip in one of the area’s many scenic cenotes, which are deep freshwater limestone sinkholes that were believed by the ancient Maya to have spiritual and healing properties. Meanwhile E! News host Giuliana Rancic, accompanied by her son Duke and husband Bill, vacationed in nearby Playa del Carmen to celebrate Duke’s nine-month birthday. “Best family vacay ever w/my two favorite guys,” she wrote on Instagram.

Finally,Mexico City has announced that it will host the NBA during the coming season, when the San Antonio Spurs face off against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second-ever regular season game to be played in Mexico City this December. According to an article written by the Christian Science Monitor, basketball is the second most popular sport in Mexico next to soccer,so it’s a smart move for the NBA,which has been working to attract new international fans.
