TripAdvisor Names Cancun Real Estate ‘Friendliest Tourist City’

25 January, 2013

TripAdvisor, which is one of the world’s largest online sources for travel information, has named Cancun the “Friendliest Tourist City” in the results of its latest Cities Survey. The results take a close look at how travelers and locals alike view 40 of the world’s most popular tourist destinations from around the world.

The survey is reportedly based on more than 75,000 responses to a survey that was sent out recently to people who wrote reviews on TripAdvisor’s website throughout 2012 about the 40 cities that were evaluated. Cancun real estate also came in as the second best destination on the survey for having trustworthy and friendly taxi drivers, making it easy to see why this exotic locale continues to be one of the most popular tourist destinations in the entire world.

Also of note,to be included in the survey, each city had to have a minimum of 300 completed reviews, and the ranking was based on average scores for each question that was answered. In addition,TripAdvisor made the selection of featured cities by using only destinations that consistently receive the largest number of international visitors each year, according to the United Nations World Tourism Organization.

“It’s not just for spring breakers,” writes TripAdvisor about Cancun. “With its golden beaches and perfect climate,[Cancun] is the premiere coastal destination in Mexico.”

In addition to being an annual hotspot for spring breakers and college students who are looking to let loose and party,Cancun is also full of resorts that cater to adults and families with children who are looking for a quiet, laid back getaway. Located on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula,Cancun is also perfectly situated close to some of the world’s most stunning ancient Mayan ruins, such as those which can be found at both Tulum and Chichén Itzá.
