Southwest Airlines Opens Up Service to Mexico

Southwest Airlines and Mexican airline Volaris are joining in a new
partnership which will link customers in the western United States with round
trip flights to Mexico. The partnership,which will begin December 1st,
marks the first time that Southwest has extended its reach beyond the
continental United States to an international destination.

The cooperation is good news for travelers in the Western U.S. Tickets can
be purchased for both companies from Southewest’s website,making travel easy
to manage and planning a breeze. For passengers that have been looking for low
cost flights to Mexico,this could be just the solution they need.

Southwest management is confident that passengers will appreciate the new service.
Executive Vice President Bob Jordan announced the details of the agreement on
Thursday,October 28 during their annual media day,according to the Dallas
News
. Mexico was a natural choice for their first international
destination,particularly because many passengers in the Western U.S.
frequently visit Mexico. This partnership makes those travel plans easier,and
more affordable!

Volaris will connect passengers from Los Angeles,San Jose and Oakland with
five different Mexican airports. The airports are located in Cancun,
Guadalajara,Morelia,Zacatecas and Toluca (which is located near Mexico City).

If passengers are not near one of the American cities listed,they can
purchase Southwest tickets to connect the flights. This connection opportunity
will be start in Sacramento,Oakland and San Jose in California,Tuscon in
Arizona and El Paso in Texas,with plans to rapidly expand to other Southwest
destinations.

Volaris is also looking to grow its presence to other locations beyond the
West Coast. Over 12 U.S. cities are in the airline’s business plan,according
to chief executive Enrique Beltranena. This means that in the coming years it will
become easier to obtain low cost flights to Mexico from anywhere in the United
States.
