Tulum Airport Announcement Monday?

Mexican newspaper,Milenio,was
speculating,yesterday,that Felipe Calderon,President of Mexico,will be in
the Riviera Maya next Monday to make an announcement about the new international
Tulum airport.

The report quoted
State Governor of Quintana Roo,Felix Canto,as saying Calderon will launch the
bidding process in Tulum on Monday to build and operate the new airport,
requiring an investment of more than $240 million.

Expectations are high
for the new airport. Locals have been awaiting final confirmation that the
project will go ahead for years but numerous deadlines have been

There is no doubt Tulum airport will happen,it's just a question
of organizing all the different levels of government and stakeholders and
finding the right investors. This takes time.

also has to be checked by archaelogists before construction can start,to be
sure there are no ancient Mayan remains of scientific interest.

could just be the latest speculation about an impending anouncement.
