Telecommunications giants,Cisco and Telmex, are making a major Mexico
investment in teleconferencing technology.
They will open publicly
available rooms with teleconferencing facilities for smaller-sized companies to
use,across the country.
Speaking at a press conference earlier this
month, the head of Cisco in Mexico,Rogelio Velasco, said the teleconference
rooms could be in operation this same year and will help companies save on
transport costs for meetings.
Spokesman for Telmex,Federico González
Contro, said they wanted the technology to be available to "companies that don't
have the option to aquire their own equipment."
The new Mexico investment
and business between Cisco and Telmex forms part of a joint plan to build
teleconferencing infrastructure across Latin America.
