ABC News said yesterday that when travel
agents,managers and agency owners answered a survey asking them to list their
ten most-booked destinations recently,Mexico took a staggering 4 out of the top
The annual survey by travel group,Travel Leaders,asked 452 of their agents to
name the top destinations for the fall,through to the end of the year,based on
their actual bookings.
Mexico was overwhelmingly the most popular country
despite worries about flu and sensationalized headlines about the drug war on
the US border,which damaged tourism earlier this year.
Mexico's Caribbean was number 2 on the list,the Riviera Maya was number 3,
cruises to Mexico were number 7 and Playa del Carmen was number
London,left out of the top ten last year,bounced in at number 6,
due to a stronger U.S. dollar making British pounds more affordable.
