Environment Protected In Tulum

The authorities are strictly enforcing environmental laws in Tulum reported
local newspaper,Novedades de Quintana
,this week.

They said that work has started to demolish 44
rooms and other buildings at the Hotel Eurostar
Blue Tulum
,that weren't authorized by Semarnat,the Mexican Federal
agency responsible for the environment and natural resources.

Dreams and Azul Blue hotels were also closed down for
violating environmental laws and other beachfront hotels were closed earlier
this year,mainly for constructing in environmentally protected areas without
permission or in federal zones.

New Tulum Mayor,Marciano Azul,has said
that he wants economic development in the area to be sustainable and
