Cancun real estate will soon be more accessible from Wisconsin, with a new nonstop flight service between Milwaukee and Cancun international airport.
Frontier Airlines announced the route, this week, saying the first new seasonal direct flights will land in Cancun on December 18.
They will run 2 flights per week through to May 1,2011,and an extra third weekly flight for the peak period from February 1 to April 15,2011 - all direct to the recently expanded Cancun airport.
"We are thrilled to provide the Milwaukee community with nonstop scheduled service to Cancun," said Daniel Shurz,VP of strategy and planning. "This is a period of substantial growth for Frontier and we are excited to add an exciting new nonstop destination out of our Milwaukee hub."
Frontier Airlines is part of Republic Airways and the new Cancun service follows their recent 17-market expansion, which they say makes them "fastest-growing major carrier in the United States."
Airbus A319 aircraft form the modern fleet for the route, with all-leather seating, four rows of extra legroom seats and a personal entertainment system for every passenger.
Frontier employs more than 5,500 aviation professionals and operates more than 550 daily flights from its hubs at Denver International Airport and Milwaukee's General Mitchell International Airport.
In total, they offer routes to more than 70 destinations in the United States,Mexico and Costa Rica.
Local property experts say the new route will make it easier for Americans in and around Wisconsin to access the area and visit or buy Cancun real estate.
