Heineken announced earlier this week that it plans to invest upwards of $480 million to build a new brewery in northern Mexico to meet growing demand in both the U.S. and Mexican markets. Located in the city of Meoqui in Chihuahua state, the plant is the Dutch brewing company’s seventh location in Mexico and is expected to have an initial production capacity of 132 million U.S. gallons of beer each year, but that number will eventually increase to at least double that amount.

The German-based Hella Corporation,which manufactures automotive headlights and rear lighting,has announced plans to invest $100m in a new plant that will be located in central Mexico. The new facility,which will be located in the town of Irapuato around 260 miles northwest of Mexico City,will increase Hella’s annual production in the region from 3.7 million to 4.9 million for headlamps,and from 2.5 to 4 million for rear combination lamps.

Nissan Motor Company has announced plans to open a $2 billion plant in Aguascalientes Mexico in an effort to boost sales in the Americas,according to a report this week by Reuters.  According to the article,the new facility will begin operations in the latter half of 2013 and will provide support for the production of “B” platform vehicles,including the Versa hatchback and the Juke crossover vehicle.
